Florian joins Barnet Symphony Orchestra for Rachmaninov’s second piano concerto.
Rachmaninov, Piano concerto no. 2 Op. 18
Dvorak, Symphony no. 9 “From the New World”
Barnet Symphony Orchestra is a vibrant, engaging and dynamic orchestra based in North London. Throughout the year they play and perform classical music in an enjoyable and sociable setting. While they aim to achieve a high standard of performance, they believe that, as an amateur orchestra, enjoyment is the most important part of any music making experience. Although an amateur orchestra, their leader and conductor are professional and Florian is looking forward to working again with Roselise Gentile, who is also conductor of Marlborough Concert Orchestra, with whom he played the Rachmaninov in December 2018.
Roselise Gentile has worked in Italy with different instrumental ensembles, including the Regional Choir and Orchestra of Umbria and the Chamber Orchestra, Cappella Musicale di Minerbio, made up of leading members of the Orchestra of Teatro Comunale in Bologna. Lately Roselise has decided to live permanently in England where she is continuing her activity as a choir and orchestra conductor. As a freelance conductor she regularly conducts the professional Chamber Orchestra, Farnesiana, in Italy, with a vast repertoire ranging from baroque to 20th century music.
