Florian is continuing his exploration of Beethoven and echoes to his legacy from across the Romantic and 20th Century composers. This time the transcendental Dante-Sonata by Liszt is paired with another Beethoven Sonata, op. 53 in C major. The two pieces have a strong spiritual side to them, and embody what Liszt himself coined ‘transcendental music’ – music that goes beyond notes and sound, and has a very clear, deep meaning.
This concert is the result of an invitation issued by the Cranleigh Arts Centre, a dynamic arts venue that has hosted numerous recitals by outstanding young musicians, including pianists Constanza Principe and Luke Jones, and the Mithras Piano Trio.
The recital is broadcast live from an empty auditorium. It can be watched for free on YouTube, by clicking here.
