Announcing Hoinar 2017

In 2016 Florian launched the Hoinar project in partnership with the Romanian Centre for Music and is now delighted to announce Hoinar 2017, the second edition of what is planned to be an annual festival of piano music. You can read more about both the name and the philosophy behind Hoinar by following the link below.

Hoinar 2017 will run from 11th to 17th December and includes masterclasses, workshops, presentations, group exercises and concerts. The masterclasses, led by Florian, will address young pianists’ need for preparation for international competitions and entrance auditions to conservatoires. Lessons will focus on the individual needs of the participants, in an encouraging and empowering atmosphere.

Hoinar 2017 also includes a national piano competition, again arranged to prepare for international competitions, with a four round format and a final round requiring the performance of a Mozart piano concerto accompanied by string quartet with members of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra. The jury includes young concert pianists with international competition experience and prizes include concert opportunities and free participation at the next edition of the festival in 2018.

Festival activities take place at the Romanian Centre for Music (str. Henri Coandă nr. 5, Bucharest) and at the Romanian Athenaeum. The application deadline for masterclasses and workshops is 4th December and for the national competition 27th November.
